It has been my privilege to be a part of the Hughenden Public School team since February, 1989. I have worn many hats in the time I have been a teacher. I was hired by Provost School Division as a French teacher. I eventually moved into the CTS realm and elementary PE. I currently work in Grade 6-8 Math and various other grade 6 courses and I continue to teach elementary PE.
I have lived in Hughenden since the beginning of my teaching career. I grew up in Hardisty and my father still lives there so I did not venture far from home. I am married with 3 children, two of which still attend Hughenden School. My eldest daughter is married and has graced me with two beautiful grandchildren.
As a teacher, I enjoy seeing the students grow intellectually, emotionally and physically. Each child is unique and has something special to offer. I love seeing the student's expressions when they "get it" in class as well as watching their team sports, whether school based or community based. I love the conversations that the younger students bring to you. I also love teaching in a small rural community where you know all the students personally and most of their parents. High fives as the elementary students are my most favorite part of the day. (The odd time I convince a junior high to give me one)
