Welcome to Hughenden Public School!

Beginning as a teacher at HPS in September 2009 and with the 2022-23 school year acting as my 6th year as principal, it has been a privilege to observe the growth that our school has endured over the course of 14 years. .  Our goal at HPS is to develop and maintain positive and caring relationships where students, staff and parents work together to create a successful learning environment.  We also promote our school as a safe area for students to express themselves.  We understand that every student expresses themselves through different skill sets, which is why we would like to encourage creativity through many avenues. 

Personally, I live in the MCHA area.  Sports are a big part of my life, especially cheering for my favourite team, the Edmonton Oilers.  I enjoy coaching a variety of extra-curricular sports at HPS, including golf, volleyball, basketball, badminton and track and field.  In my "spare time," I act at the ref assignor for Hughenden Minor Hockey and ref up to Junior B and Senior hockey.  I also enjoy traveling to different areas with my favourite destination being Las Vegas.

I am extremely proud to be the administrative leader at HPS, as we have a highly effective team committed to promote lifelong learning for all students.
